Best Craft Alcohol! Best Pinot Noir! Best Rum In The Country! Top Craft Beers of 2021!
I am sure you have seen headlines like these that excited you and drew you in over the years. Who doesn’t want to try “the best,” after all? As craft alcohol makers, I know you pay close attention once reading and are asking the same questions I am:
Why have I already heard of most of these brands? Why do many of these articles feature the same brands and/or bottles…don’t these publications have a unique point of view?
So, the best vodka also comes from the same company that makes the best whiskey? Do I find that to be commonly true myself? No, not really.
Aren’t most of these breweries the same ones that were on last year’s “best of” article? Are any of these brands independently owned? Are all of the brands listed in this article actually owned by only 3-4 companies?! Why is that?
There are thousands of craft makers across the country with new ones popping up every year! Yet the plethora of “best of” or “new and exciting” articles don’t bring this exciting truth to light or highlight the craft movement for consumers truly looking to find new tipples.
As you can imagine, I began to get pretty disillusioned with all of this. I felt, core to my soul, the point of these articles should be to introduce enthusiasts to unique or new products they might not discover on their own. No offense Four Roses, but people aren’t having any trouble discovering your brand.
The majority of the brands they showcase in the many articles promising to introduce craft enthusiasts to new, unique, and often craft alcohol continue to showcase brands that have been around for decades. Or worse, are owned by multi-million dollar conglomerates or corporations.
OUR Craft Alcohol Favorites
So, we’re embarking on a new journey here at The Crafty Cask. While we’re always sharing our new finds and favorites on social media, we’re now also going to start publishing articles that pull together our team’s top picks for independently owned, craft alcohol.
We’re not claiming they’re the “best”, because truly only each drinkers’ nose & tongue can decide what is “best” for them AND they’d have to taste everything to do that! We’re sharing them because they’re what we’ve been drinking lately and can’t get enough of. Or because we think they really stand out and are unique compared to what else is on the market. Or because we truly do think they are the best we’ve had for our palates—and if a readers’ palate is similar to one of our team members, then they might think it’s the best too!
You can read all about how we shared this exciting news with Tippler Nation here and check out our Bourbon and Agave Spirits articles we’ve already published as the start to this new ongoing series.
Our mission is to support and celebrate the vast spectrum of craft alcohol makers. Whether you specialize in spirits, beer, wine, cider, or any of the other drinks families out there, we’re here to raise you up and connect you with craft drinks enthusiasts. If we’ve tried your craft booze and it’s one of our favorites in the category we’ll be featuring, we’re shouting your name from our rooftop so that our audience of over 15,000 craft enthusiasts can learn about you and try it for themselves. But the trick is, we have to try it and know about it for us to even consider including it!
Send Your Samples Now
If you are a craft maker and want an opportunity for one of your products to be featured, send us your tipples to try!
Even if it doesn’t make the cut as one of our top 5 for that specific article, as long as it’s high quality and we enjoy it we’ll often take some photos and share it with our audience via social media at the very least.
We always celebrate and support any craft alcohol we truly enjoy!
The next four articles we have planned are focused on Rosé, Rum, IPA, and Cider. Of course, there are many more topics we’ll be covering in the future, so even if you make something else feel free to send it our way so we have it in our library of options to choose from when the time is right. Any products that we discover on our own during our travels and tipples are eligible to be featured as well. We’re just sharing this opportunity for a free, easy way (only one of our many free resources for craft makers!) to potentially increase your brand awareness and reach a new audience.
Sending us samples is simply one way to get on our radar if you think something you are making is the best and want an opportunity to be featured. No matter how we discover you and your brand, we look forward to celebrating high quality, craft tipples and sharing the stories of the amazing makers and stories behind them with #TipplerNation.
